For reference it's a story, first part in a series, about a wealthy MRA/PUA type trying to find... something? It's deeply unpleasant to watch, but I think it's supposed to be.

It's fiction. Should have mentioned it. I think the people who wrote it hate MRA as much as the rest of us.

I can't stand second-hand embarrassment but dude was so unsympathetic I had no problem seeing him fail.
