BOOK CLUB - TWO ORDERS OF BUSINESS

[personal profile] diet_poison 2016-04-14 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yesterday it was voted that we would read the second book for the book club for May because the first book - Pounded In the Butt By My Own Butt by Chuck Tingle - was deemed to be too short (only a few thousand words). In light of this, you can still read that book and post about it here if you would like! That is fine with me! But I will only be holding an official discussion for the second book.

Problem is, the second place was a tie! So we're having a runoff poll. That poll is here. Please vote. This will close on Monday.

Second thing - planning a date for the April discussion of Who Censored Roger Rabbit! I'm inclined to do it on Monday, May 2, to avoid the weekend or the possibility that people (including myself) might have plans for Friday. I know I can do it that day and I'm hoping it's a better day for others, but I want your feedback. People who are reading the book for April, do you have a preference for when the book is discussed? (Thursday nights are out for me btw, I have standing plans on Thursdays.)

Any day is good for me as far as the book discussion goes.

Something else I've been wondering about: are we allowed to re-nominate books? Like if a book loses out on the poll next month, are we allowed to nominate it again for the next month?

In the past we've done a "cooldown" for books that lose, making them wait for two months to be re-nominated, but I'm inclined to not impose that right now since we are only nominating 6-8 books at a time, not over a dozen like before.

I'll bring it up on the next rec post. I think re-nominations will be fine for now.
