I've only read a few chapters of HQ!! but doesn't HQ!! mainly focus on the sport itself? Like I don't remember many shippy moments when I read it and from what I've seen from gifs and such.

I understand the fandom is very into shipping but OP is talking about the anime itself so

But people don't love it for the sports, they love it for the pairings.

If you want a good sports anime, you don't watch Haikyuu.

Excuse you, Haikyuu is also a good sports anime. If you want a fandom that focuses on the sport then Haikyuu is the wrong choice for you, but the anime itself is pretty volleyball focused.

You only read a few chapters and you think you can judge anything? There is no canon romance in the manga if that's what you mean but shippers only need bromance to have a reason to get by. Majority of fandom content is filled with slash fanart/doujin/fic.

I've read around 100 chapters LOL. I was judging from what I've seen and I also imposed a question on whether HQ!! did focus on the sport, so yeah I may have judged as humans do but I also inquire for confirmation on my thoughts. I guess the moments people considered 'bromantic', just appeared like friendship to me or perhaps in the later chapters, there were more shippy moments.

I kind of wish I could get into it, but it just didn't click for me. The last sports anime I watched was Kuroko no Basuke, and I'm pretty sure the reason I liked it was because the plot wasn't your usual sports anime plot - it was ultimately about Kuroko's big plot against the rest of the Generation of Miracles to prove that they're Doing It Wrong. I just found that hilarious.

It's currently my favourite anime/manga, so no argument from me.

I love the art style of the anime as well. It makes rereading the manga hard at first because I just vastly prefer the anime art style. I can't wait for season 3, I really want to see the Shiratorizawa match animated!

I love the manga to bits, the anime is great. I love the style, the pacing (well... maybe not so much on the last game) and the characters. I have a few ships that I absolutely adore.

If only there wasn't the fandom.
