He's cute and he's scowling. That's all i got.

I don't get the hype around any animal crossing villager. once you've had one personality type in your town, you've had them all.

I didn't either until he moved into my main town. I still don't think he deserves quite as much hype as he gets, but Marshall is very cute. There's something very sweet about watching the squirrels walking along and their tails bobbing and it helps that Marshall has one of the more appealing villager designs.

I don't think he's worth millions of Bells or the excitement people make over him, but he is cute.

Yeah, I don't get the hype over specific villagers either.

Granted, Stitches is my favorite AC villager, and I was heartbroken when Muffy decided to leave my town, so I'm a fine one to talk, lmao.

I snagged him only because he can fetch a LOT of bells. But I haven't turned on my game in a few years so.

Now the one villager I have strived to have over all my AC games is Static - he's been my favorite since I was a little kid with the original.

I think it's because

1. Cute design
2. Popular personality type
3. Cute species

If Marshal were a grumpy/grouchy personality type, I don't think he would have been as popular, but with the smug (?) personality type, he comes off as a romantic. Most other smug villagers have... different designs that make the personality come off as creepy, but because Marshal is so cute, it's enjoyable to interact with him. And as others have said, squirrels are really adorable as villagers. It's just the fact he has a lot of good traits going for him.

I didn't get the hype either, but now that he randomly moved to my town, I've found him to be one of my favorite villagers. He's already given me his pic three times, not counting April Fool's Day, and I've decided on keeping him as a permanent resident. I like to jokingly ship him with Pecan since they're the only squirrels in town, live near each other, and frequently have me take packages to each other.

what hype were you expecting to "get"? all of the animals have a set number of personalities, the literal only difference is their appearance. his appearance is popular... that's it.
