You really can't see a difference? I mean, I actually think people can ship what they want. But I understand why people would be bothered by people taking away what little representation LGBTAQ people have in media in a way they wouldn't be about people increasing that representation.

It's fanfic ship wars. Bringing social justice into it always leads to bullshit crusades.

Writing fanfic doesn't take away canon representation.

The canon is still there.


The only time I have a problem with it is when the fans are in denial. And they think the character is straight even though they're clearly in love with a character of the same gender in canon.
