(Anonymous) 2016-04-16 12:05 am (UTC)(link)Like, if someone is killed with a handgun I get not holding the manufacturer responsible, but it's unreasonable that we as a country are okay with manufacturers making guns that are meant for actual warfare and selling them to civilians. And I know his argument is that manufacturers are a job creator, but I think we should prioritize it making it harder for people to mow down a class of 6 year olds in minutes, and it starts with the manufacturers.

But... Bernie is against assault rifles and guns meant for warfare in civilian hands. He wants to ban those.

He thinks they should be illegal and wants to make those things illegal. Then if they produce and sell those, they can be held responsible for producing and selling an illegal thing. But AFAIK, he feels it's not fair, for now, to blame them for making and selling a thing that is, for now, totally within the law.
Does that make sense?
