Except it's not your looks that will ultimately cause people to back away, it's the attitude behind it. Everyone has low self esteem issues from time to time, anon. But people who go on about it put people off, because they think you're fishing for sympathy. It feels like manipulation to get people to provide you with positive affirmation and reassurances that nooooo you're so adorbs, etc.

Don't do that to yourself. You deserve better than to wallow in self pity.

I think the same thing about myself. It's why even though I'd love to be in a relationship, I don't think it will happen. Because I just wouldn't feel comfortable being in a relationship when I hate how I look so much.
