I'm tired of this sentiment, especially for characters like Superman or Faramir. I personally really like characters who are innately good. I can relate to them but even if I couldn't, I like having characters I can look up to. I like having characters I can't relate to as well. I think it would be boring to only have characters that are relatable. It just feels like when they make these kinds of characters "realistic" they end up being like every other character there is. That's what's boring to me. I want a good variety of characters. Why would you limit that?

I can understand if people don't like the Superman in Man of Steel. He's just another in a long line of broody heroes and there have been so many better ones. I haven't seen BvS, but it sounds like they make Superman just like Batman personality-wise. How is that interesting to watch? I don't think they've really had Superman in a movie in a long time. It's just a bland character with his name that's nothing like him.
