we've got photos of them as contortionists, riding on horseback, that kinda thing. beyond that - no idea. i THINK my grandma tried to find records but the museum in nagasaki was burned down.

the lady who married the circus leader later ran off with a native dude which must have been incredibly scandalous in those days.

some day i'm gonna research it.
