Is it weird that I saw the title before I read it and thought it was another game in the Anno series?

I enjoyed the books but didn't realize there was a show!

I've never heard of this but I'd be interested in it.

Yay! I love the 1790s!

What--I love series set in the 1700s! Looking it up I see it's a Swedish crime drama https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anno_1790 but nothing on how widely available it is with subtitles or dubbed! I do wish historical series or foreign language series had more of a fandom!

DVDs with English subtitles exist. Hardsubs unfortunately, but at least it's possible to get a legit version.

Torrent-wise, I managed to download the series raw a few years ago, but the subs had to be obtained from a subtitles site, and they were... not great. A bit svenglish-y. But understandable, mostly.

Not sure availability aside from that. But at least it's potentially out there if you're willing to dig a little. I really do recommend taking a look if the setting/period/premise interests you.

I totally have this downloaded and it's on my to watch list, nonnie! Though even once I do, I doubt I'll have anything to contribute to a fandom... but I do want to watch it!

I love this series so much. <3 <3 You are not alone, OP. :D

Aaand this secret reminds me that I started rewatching it recently but never finished. I should get on that.

Keep meaning to watch this, but I'm crap at understanding Swedish even though I'm Norwegian.

My college professor in economic history recommended it in his lectures several times. I don't remember why but he found it historically accurate.
