I'm not the anon who wrote the comment you responded to. I did not see anything "paranoid" about their comment, nor did I think they came off as "petrified" of anything.

You response used the exact same tone of false sympathy that people use when they say stuff like "It must exhausting getting offended about everything. I'm sorry for you" when someone expresses a negative opinion they don't like. If you're not being mocking, you sure are doing a good impression of it.
