DA - I agree. They made a point, even before putting him in a relationship on the show, to make it clear that he had truly loved multiple people throughout his life and had long-term relationships with several of them. The fans who insist that because he's pansexual and/or likes to flirt, he's also incapable of or doesn't desire commitment or emotional connections do not understand the character and are, IMO, rather offensive.

I always think of Jack's sexuality as a kind of fandom choose your own adventure that tends to say more about that particular fan's values and desires than Jack's really. Jack didn't believe in labels so it doesn't strike me as all that odd that he might also have been open to all relationship types at various points in his life and that he wasn't just about one thing.
