US income tax question?

So I'm the above anon whose mom's in the ER right now, and I was going to file extensions for the two of us before the ER put a crimp in that. Is there such a thing as a doctor's note for the IRS?

File your extension ASAP. This close, there may not be much in penalties.

The link says Businesses/small businesses, but I'd give the good ol' IRS a call tomorrow and see if it applies to personal taxes, too.

The best thing you can do imo is to CALL the IRS and actually talk to someone. The IRS is incredibly flexible and there are dozens of options available for extensions, installment plans, etc. (even for people not currently dealing with a medical emergency who just are too broke to pay right now).
