I've never watched this show, but this is a really beautiful shot! Wonderful scenery. Strange, I really don't like the visuals of the art style/designed for the actual characters, but so many of this show's background/setting shots I've seen on tumblr etc look so gorgeous.

guessing you don't look at art much

(Anonymous) 2016-04-20 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Animation is very different from still art. You can appreciate different standards and types of visual beauty in both - there isn't a whole lot of good-looking animation in kid's animated shows.

Also, if you think seeing beautiful art makes you more snobbish and dismissive of things that are beautiful but not as beautiful as the most beautiful art you've seen, I'm guessing YOU know absolutely jack shit about art. Being exposed to art and genuinely appreciating art makes you MORE affected by, more appreciative and open-minded about, and more inclined to notice, visually pleasing things, not less.

guessing you don't make much art

Keep on stroking that hate boner, troll.

Everyone else: stop thinking this person is even trying to make sense.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
MTE. I can only conclude that everyone creaming themselves over this show has the mind of a two-year-old.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
You mean they have the emotional capacity to get inside the mind of a child and understand that it is important for children to have media that appeals to them and appreciate kids' shows from a kid's POV?

Because, you know, that's a good thing. Being able to appreciate kids' stuff isn't a bad thing, it's kind of REALLY important to understand kids' minds and preferences, an inability and unwillingness of adults to try to see things from kids' points of view is what causes them to churn out so much crap for kids.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, I mean they have no understanding of anything whatsoever and are amused and captivated by bright colors and randomness.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
They think the show is just bright colors and randomness. Either they have terrible comprehension, or they are just baiting fans. Don't feed.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
There's nothing wrong with my comprehension. Steven Universe is the same brightly colored random shit CN has been churning out for the last ten years. People didn't lose their fucking minds over Adventure Time and Chowder, so why they're falling for this shit I'll never know. Maybe something in the water just made people dumber over the years.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 06:47 am (UTC)(link)
It's because unlike AT and Chowder, SU went full Tumblr. So it's brightly-colored nonsense that makes them feel hugely superior because representation.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-22 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Poor comprehension or trolling point stands.

actually, I'm a storyboard artist myself and I've also studied animation

I work for Disney atm and looking at art is kinda what I do for a living

but keep on hating, hater

post some work then

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Seconded. I'm interested to see what a dumbass hack who cries at Steven Universe of all things is capable of producing.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Look I'm real sorry that SU stole all your friends or whatever but this doesn't even make sense.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
And you have the time to post on F!S? LOL, so much bullshit here.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
DA

What, people who work for whoever don't get occasional vacation time?

Your need to criticize is interfering with your logic.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-22 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
do you think working for Disney is enslavement or smth?

(Anonymous) 2016-04-20 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
the backgrounds were stunning, I'll probably buy the picture book even though i'm not wild about the show just for the art.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
That is some butt-fugly art. Sorry you got shit taste, anon.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
I love that they're making Delmarva look so magical. It's kind of hilarious, but I still love it.

Holding out for a Slaughter Beach episode.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Am I the only one who thought this episode was a disappointing waste of a potentially great backstory and that the song sucked? Nice scenery tho, I agree.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Still wondering why some people are so salty.

Anyhow, I think it's good looking.
