I could so go for that. I don't know, maybe it's just because the Dorwinion wine trade is such a plot point in book!Hobbit, and because we actually see Mirkwood elves both partying (in the forest) and getting absolutely plastered (before the barrel ride), but I always thought that Mirkwood had a drinking culture that a lot of the other Third Age elven citadels lacked. I could totally see Legolas as an expert at getting totally sloshed but looking like he isn't.
