Since notable pro-rape activist Alan Moore wrote it. He has never written any work without rape. Its his thing.

Where's the rape? I don't see it.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-20 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you check the picture? Or do you just not consider rape canon unless you see the penis enter the vagina?

(Anonymous) 2016-04-20 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
If the act of stripping is considered rape then by that logic James Gordon was also raped because he was naked as well. Funny how the people complaining about TKJ forget that.

Are you being willfully blind to the implications of what's being show? Or are you just very male?

(Anonymous) 2016-04-20 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it's more of a case of what you are inferring than what was implied.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
seriously, Look at those pictures again

Tbh I think Gordon was also raped.

You don't have to use your eyes, you have to use your brain.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-20 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you think rape occurred off panels because she was naked?

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
She was stripped naked and photographed by a character with a proclivity for violence. Alan Moore is well known for a pre-occupation with rape. As this is a DC comic they couldn't actually show anything, but the implications are all there, especially since both DC and Marvel have never shied away from off-panel implications of rape and other violence once they started bucking the comics code.

So was Gordon. Was he raped?

Also Joker has never been shown to be a rapist in the main DCU even after rape has been depicted.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, Gordon was also raped.

Anon, you're missing the point. Many writers contribute to the DCU. The writer who wrote The Killing Joke, Alan Moore, is infamous for putting rape in all his stories.

He almost certainly raped Harley during No Man's Land. Pretty much their whole relationship has been a mix of Stockholm Syndrome and dubcon.

Uhm... not that I don't dislike the sexual assault of Barbra, or that I really have grew tired with Alan Moore and his rape-thing but... not only he has written things without rape, but also he is ON RECORD as confirming that no, Barbra was not raped by the Joker. She was sexually assaulted, but not raped. Which is a really weak distinction but hey, it is there.

(And I will forever love Cameron Stewart, Babs Tarr and Brendan Fletcher from taking that thing out of canon at least for the time being)

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
Do you believe him, though? This is Alan Moore we're talking about, and also DC, which at least sometimes pretends to be a family company.

[personal profile] luxshine 2016-04-21 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Given that he has never said the opposite, and he hates DC so he would really go and say that the Joker raped Barbra just to spite the family company, yeah, I believe him.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Did he say anything about Gordon?
luxshine: (Default)

[personal profile] luxshine 2016-04-21 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Not as far as I know.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
It's still canon, unless Babs was crippled some other way.
luxshine: (Default)

[personal profile] luxshine 2016-04-21 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
She may have.

I mean, the idea is that a villian named Fuge implanted Babs with a ton of fake memories, and in the panel where she breaks free of said fake memories, one of the memories is the one of the Joker shooting her.

Later on, she just says that her memories are back to normal, but she never says what (if anything) actually changed from what we read.

So there's the chance that the whole KJ was finally shoot out of canon (Which didn't sit well with some fanboys, including the disgusting creep who sent Babs Tarr an image of Babs being raped)

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm aware of that story.

The whole thing was too vague, and until another story actually confirms what was fake and what wasn't, i think it's still officially canon as far as dc is concerned.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
And where did you hear about tarr being sent that image?
luxshine: (Default)

[personal profile] luxshine 2016-04-21 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I saw it on Twitter. As in I actually saw the image, and the tweet where she was tagged in, as well as Cameron Stewart's answer to the tweet (he was tagged too, but the image was directed to Tarr)

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
It's cute that you think any other writer will even acknowledge that the next time TKJ is brought up.
