i feel like they wanted it to be rape and backpedaled because they knew they'd get called out for it even then, its already ugly and brutal. but its still sexual assault even if its not outright rape, and yeah i'd say the same for what he did to Jim Gordon (and if he had the capacity to rape barbara i wouldnt put it past him to rape Jim)
