+1, Batman is one of my favorite DC characters but I agree that was so fucked up. Tbh The Killing Joke is very lurid and the only reason people remember it is because of 'the shock factor'.

I remember seeing a comic tackling the issue of how Batman acted in The Killing Joke. I can't remember who the writer/s were though.

It might have been Batman: Secrets by Sam Keith. In the end of that one Batman and The Joker discuss the end of The Killing Joke.

I think there was a 'Batman Chronicles' story by Ostrander, Yale, & Stelfreeze that got into Barbara's reaction to Bruce's behavior in TKJ. Granted, there may be more than one.
