American Beauty is the first thing that comes to my mind.

Oh that one?

But I thought we were pretty much supposed to find him despicable in that movie for lusting after his daughter's friend, and since the "climax" (or lack thereof) of that storyline is him realizing she's way too young for him and she's just a kid... that's not really what I'd think of. But maybe I'm just trying to imagine more along the lines of manic pixie dream girls that bring the male protagonist inspiration and help him love life again or something
