I'm pretty sure it's because most remakes are just fucking awful in terms of quality and lazily done (as if someone said, "Oh, it's based on X story that everyone loves, why do we have to try at all?"), so plenty of people don't have faith when another one is announced. Especially after all the Michael Bay trainwrecks of the last decade or so.

And before someone jumps on this and whines about how I'm a hater, I said MOST, not all.
