You basically said the only reason anyone could like him is because they want someone to slash Kylo with.

No I didn't, I said that his disproportionate popularity in fandom, given his screen time, is probably to do with wanting someone to slash Kylo with. It's possible that fandom *as a whole* really do think he's the second most interesting person in the film, which is fine, but I doubt it.
