i doubt they would make bisexual dean non-ambiguous, doesn't the actor have super strong religious beliefs?

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
No? I don't think so.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
okay, but there was drama about how this person said to the actor how they were bisexual and felt identified to dean and the actor made fun of them? i'm not part of the spn fandom but i remember seeing a video of that circulating around awhile ago.

Jensen Ackles plays Dean as straight. Maybe because he encounters so many truly disturbing fans (the ones who won't let go of their shipping preferences and confuse them with canon) he's not always over-patient when he gets informed that Dean is not straight (and is into his brother ) by fans.

If I recall he basically said he didn't want questions about it at the panel (likely due to the shippers), and it was the crowd that reacted badly to the fan saying that they were bisexual.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, this is what I remember.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's pretty much exactly what happened.

And considering Supernatural fandom, it's hard to blame the guy for not wanting to field shipping or sexuality questions at a panel. Literally any answer he gave would cause a fucking riot.

I just had the mental image of Jensen as the Nope Octopus.

Pretty sure that's an accurate representation.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-21 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, this is what happened. Considering how often the actors/producers/etc are harassed about Destiel, I can't exactly blame him for wanting to shut it down. Plus, Jensen in particular has always been very vocal about how Sam and Dean's relationship is the core of the show and his favorite aspect about it, so I it makes sense that he's annoyed by people who want to make the show about Dean and Cas. I think Misha is the only one who really humors Destiel fans

(Anonymous) 2016-04-22 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
That was not what happened. He never said he didn't want questions about it (that is a rumor, as the Cons do have the right to veto questions, and they have never vetoed questions about any ship), but he DID react to the CROWD reacting badly to the fan. The fan later gave her side of the story and she was clear that Jensen NEVER mocked her.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-22 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Ah thanks for the clarification. The main thing I remembered was that it was the crowd that reacted badly. Its been a while.

I have no idea if he's religious or not, but he doesn't always keep his cool around tinhatters, that's for sure. But who would?

The actor's aunt is married to a woman, and he's been hugging both her and her wife in pictures. And he said something very nice about a transgender fan he met last year. So I very much doubt he's anti-LGBT.
