Yep. I see all this stuff about "coming out" as asexual online and I'm just like "...why?" Asexuality isn't really the same as being gay/straight/bi/etc. in that regard. I mean, I can tell them my romantic orientation and just say "I like boys/girls/whatever" if I feel like they need to know what gender to expect me to be in a relationship with, but I don't see how saying I'm not interested in having sex is really that much different than volunteering what my favorite position is or that I like to be spanked during sex. It's just not really relevant to anyone you're not dating (unless you're the type of person who just really likes talking about that sort of thing with people, in which case...go for it, I guess).
