Reylo started out as one of the most popular ships in the fandom by far but it dropped in popularity. I think one of the reason was the constant hate getting flung at the ship by concern trolls who kept whining and attacking shippers because it supposedly is an abusive ship and everyone shipping it is condoning abuse or some shit. I can't stand the pairing either, but fuck those haters are annoying.

Oh I see. I'm not in the Star Wars fandom and I've only seen Tumblr posts expressing disapproval over Reylo so I had no idea it was originally popular.
