Nintendo had every right to fire her since she broke contract and was moonlighting under a profession that conflicted with her job with Nintendo. That's it.

Whether the child porn stuff is true or not that's not why she was fired. also: she had nothing to do with the censorship of fe:fates and the fact that she's getting backlash for that is dumb.

It wasn't censored. It was localized. Sometimes, things in the original version of something are actually awful, and it makes the game better by tweaking dialogue. That's not what censorship is and not what it means.

(and for the record, translations don't have to be word-for-word literal translations to be good translations, and localizing can involve some tweaks to make the characters seem more interesting to the target audience and that's okay, still not censorship)

That's localization. Unless "censorship" is now "any time it's not a literal translation".

The only one that I find aggravating is the support that got changed to nothing but "..............". I mean, really?

I can see the humor not being to people's tastes, and it's fine to not like it! But it's not censorship.

I don't give a shit. And judging how well FE: Fates sold (and, eventually, probably Bravely Second, another game the same people are whining about being censored) most people don't either. It's not like the whiners can't find half naked chibis all over the internet.

Tell that to #TorrentialDownpour cry babies. They jumped on this like it was no one else's business and made the situation 10x worse by making it look like gamer gate was the reason she was fired as opposed to the actual fact that SHE BROKE CONTRACT by putting unprofessional stuff on her professional Twitter.

While I have no beef with most of the English version, I'll point out that parts of it were in fact censored (removal of face touching, swimsuits, etc.).

tbf the swimsuits added nothing/were just fanservice and allegedly parts of Japan thought the face touching stuff was skeevy.

the real problem with the game is less the localization and more the fact that the story sucked and that has more to do with the source material and false promises IS gave.

gameplay was fun at least.

Censorship is different from removing stuff that is dumb. The face touching "petting" bits were weird and stupid and the game is better off not including that.

Censorship would be, this is ILLEGAL IN AMERICA and so MUCH BE REMOVED. Not the case.

I still think it's fucked up that they got to know that because someone with a grudge investigated her until they found something that could get her into trouble.
It's like a dream come true for doxxers and that freaks me out.
