How did he overreact? He got upset about something (that is a pretty huge thing), they talked/argued, and he decided to leave the situation to calm down.

That is a normal thing to do.

I don't know the story. And considering it was years ago, you are upset right now, and I'm not a therapist I doubt any more details will be without extreme bias.

And how do you know that his reaction isn't without extreme bias? Why are you assuming that he is reacting normally and that I'm not?

because you are the one telling the story in which he is the "bad guy". I'd think that if YOU thought it was extreme you would bring it up. hell, I'd think that you would exaggerate what happened because you are upset.
