Re: Pairings you originally disliked but then you ended up shipping them

Ugh, same. I was okay with Hannibal pining after Will from the start, but I didn't see Will/Hannibal as a viable option until s3.

To me it was obvious that Hannibal felt some type of way about Will even in S1, something only shippers seemed to pick on, but IMO it was firmly one-sided, something shippers didn't agree with. I kinda started to veer towards being ok with them having a mutual attraction in s2 (tho less sexual in Will's case), but I didn't allow myself to become a shipper until I saw that Will could roll with it.
I think I saw Will as a victim for so long that W/H felt inappropriate, y'know?

Oh yeah, Hannibal obviously felt something for Will in the early seasons, and even though I didn't ship them, I said that Hannibal was 100% in love with Will by the S2 finale. But as for shipping them, not so much. And Will's feelings were much less clear; I don't think even Will figured them out until he had eight months after Mizumono to pine, basically. I mean, if you're pining for someone who sliced you open, I think you're pretty much fucked.

And as you said, Will did feel like a victim for so long. It wasn't until he became just as bad as Hannibal (at least toward Hannibal) that I started to ship it. And weirdly, I feel like now that they're both equals, they might be on the same page, more or less, and would stop trying to eat and or kill one another. Though obviously they'd be fucked up in just about every other way possible.
