I've only watched the first couple episodes. I really wish I liked it more, because the leads are.... so, so, so attractive. It's ridiculous. And I really love the concept. I just wish the plots and writing had a little more to them.

Maybe I'll resume watching. The leads really are good.

Hahaha. This.

I've never been someone who watches TV for teh hotness, or whatever, but damn Lucifer does it for me. And I worship Lauren German's majestic eyebrows, like wtf ever ARE THEY, and how are they so perfect?! (Also, the rest of her is very good looking too.)

(Anonymous) 2016-04-23 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think so far they've explored the concept as well as they could, Lucifer was acting human far too quickly, and I don't really think the lady cop is all that interesting and his interactions with her just feel like a cliche will they/won't they (him being Lucifer is not enough of a twist on this.. I've watched far too many supernatural shows for that alone to be interesting.)

And yeah I feel like they could do more with Mazikeen.

The weird thing is that I like the show despite all these things you've mentioned, most of which I agree with.

I feel like Lucifer's entire character arc, as well as his relationship with Chloe, is on fast forward; the show could do most of the same stuff it's doing, but much slower and more nuanced, and it would actually be really good. But they just keep zooming through these major developments, sometimes in the span of a single episode. And I do find it disappointing.

And yet...I still like the show anyway? Yeah, IDK.

to be fair, it IS on Fox and Fox is known for cancelling their shows pretty damn quick.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-23 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I looooove this show. I don't hate Maze. I do understand her reasoning behind her actions, even if I also understand why Lucifer was angry with her, but the fact that her actions were so nuanced and not entirely selfishly motivated prevents me from hating her for what she did.

I actually love everyone, even Trixie (that's a hooker's name!) and usually kids in shows are ridiculously precocious or just annoying.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-23 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree with this entire comment. I understand why Lucifer is angry at her, but I think she's a sympathetic character and find her enjoyable. Also: Maze/Amenadiel is pretty hot, ngl (will I ever get over my Angel/Demon kink? No. The answer is no)

Like you, I usually dislike child characters (even though I'm generally fond of children irl) but I really enjoy Trixie. I think she's given the perfect amount of screen time and I think Lucifer's interactions with her are pretty funny (I cracked up when he actually threw a stuffed animal at her in the most recent episode to wake her up). And this is a small, inconsequential thing, but I like the chocolate cake running gag that's popped up in a few episodes. I figured that Dan's year long cake bribe would only be mentioned in that one episode, but it's a nice bit of continuity that he's seen actually giving Trixie the cake in subsequent episodes

I love Maze/Amenadiel! Though when he first showed up I was squinting all, "I know you... I know you... why do I know you?"

So I looked him up and it's the fucking principal from Buffy. WTF? He hasn't changed at all!

(Anonymous) 2016-04-23 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
D.B. Woodside, yum. he and Lesley-Ann Brandt make a stunning angel/demon couple. but [SPOILER ALERT]             I was wincing waiting for him to realize she was playing him. big surprise, she's a demon!

I'm enjoying the show a lot. Even Trixie. Her interactions with Lucifer are hilarious, especially since he obviously is treating her just like every other questionable human he meets. They all work on primitive desires, such as wealth. And cake.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-23 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
They dooooo. They're both so gorgeous.

I'm hoping that the show really plays with the whole 'Lucifer starts doing 'good'/gets human' as well as 'Amenadiel starts doing 'bad'/gets human'.

Haha I love the way he treats Trixie. He never talks down to her because she's a kid, and he totally has that same almost-disdain he has for a lot of other humans.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-24 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! Amenadiel being corrupted is so fascinating somehow, the same way Lucifer doing good (and being endlessly self-reflective about it) is fascinating on the flipside.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-23 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
ayrt

Haha, I recognized him from Suits!

(Anonymous) 2016-04-24 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Same here. Maze did what she thought was best for Lucifer - even if he didn't agree and saw it as a betrayal I don't blame her for what she did and I don't blame Lucifer for being angry at her for it. I just love it when a show can do that.

Good news.

It's been picked up for a second season. http://www.fox.com/lucifer/article/get-ready-for-more-rosewood-lucifer

Yay!! Thank you, anon! I hadn't heard that.

No problem! Sometimes when they make these renewal decisions at odd points in the season, it doesn't get a lot of press and people don't realize for a while. I just remembered reading about it in an Ask Matt column on TV Insider.

I wasn't quite daring to hope, but both Lucifer and Rosewood are getting another season?

YES! *does a happy dance*

Woot! I had no idea. Thank you, nonny!

You're welcome! I saw it mentioned and thought the secret poster and other fans would like to know, since Fox didn't seem to make a big deal out of it.

I didn't expect to like this at all, but I really do. It's not deep, but it's fun. And it's been renewed for another season so no worries there.

I found the concept of this show rather clever, and I have such extreme fondness for Tom Ellis because of Miranda, but I couldn't stay invested in it. I think I'll have to give it another try when I can binge it.
