So Vertigo, a comic imprint DC owns, is being discontinued. It's editor, Shelly Bond, is being let go. The sales of Vertigo weren't doing so hot, so this is the decision they are making and so they don't need her anymore. They publically have wished her nothing but the best.
The move makes sense, even if it's unfortionate. The context, however, is this other guy DC is keeping (note when I say keeping that he had nothing to do with vertigo, there was no "choice" to keep one over the other). Eddie Berganza, an editor who works on superman, has this really, really bad rep. Lots of sexual harassment. At cons, at work. It was a thing a few years back. Now supposedly they gave him the business and he's cleaned up his act (though it's also said they just keep women far away from his department so it's not so much he's a better person as he has no opportunities).
Anyway, the truer statement that can (and has by saner people) been made is "how the fuck are they letting a great editor like Shelly go (she has done some good shit)" when Eddie fucking Berganza still has a job?"

(Anonymous) 2016-04-23 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)Someone writing stating this does not make them a 'radfem' or even a "feminist" IMO, it's just someone stating (albeit clearly pretty angrily) their perspective as to what's occurring, in that situation.
I have a friend who identifies as a "radical feminist" and when they talk from their perspective, it's pretty obvious that they are more from the "radical" side of things.
In other words, you can't go around making assumptions of people, based on one sentence they wrote on an internet page. I know people do this a lot but it seriously just irritates me.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-23 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)I have absolute SHIT taste in movies. I'm completely undiscriminating. I love B-horror films, I love stupid action films, and my best friend of eleven years just rolls her eyes at me. She would never tell me not to watch them or talk about them. I might say, "Omg you should watch this, it's so terribad!" but I'd never be offended if she didn't (or did and hated it).
Even best friends don't have 100% meshing tastes. That'd be horribly boring...
