Except Tosh let her alien lover/girlfriend into the hub, and she wasn't kicked out. So why him and not her?

As far as I remember, Tosh believed all Mary wanted to do was going home.
Ianto was with Torchwood long enough to know there was no healing. Lisa killed the bloody doctor guy. And also, hiding her in the basement of Torchwood? Fucking smart. He could have taken her somewhere where she wouldn't endanger innocent people. It's also getting implied that Ianto used Torchwood from the very beginning for this, which makes him a backstabbing traitor.

I haven't seen that episode in a long time, so I wasn't exactly sure of Tosh's circumstances.

And I see your point. He did know that Cybermen were dangerous, but is it ever said that he knew she couldn't be healed? At Torchwood One, they just showed up and started taking people. The cyber outfit she had on still showed enough human parts to at least raise hope of changing her back. Also, hiding her in the Torchwood building, despite how stupid because she could be found at any moment, was more safer then somewhere where there were untrained people around to deal with her if she got away, like an abandoned building or an apartment or something like that.

I totally agree that he used Torchwood(and Jack...), but in my opinion it's a t least a little understandable because he did love her and didn't want to give up, so he probably wasn't thinking straight.

Yeah, I understand, that Torchwood was better that in the middle of the city or something, but in my opinion hiding her somewhere abandoned like an old garage or something would have been better than the basement of his workplace. At least then he could have asked Torchwood for help when she breaks out, and they would have been prepared. And if she really had been in the middle of nowhere, nobody would have died.

I also think it's understandable that he would go that far for somebody he loves, but it still makes him a traitor. I'm not sure if he knew she couldn't be healed, but he must have realized when the doctor failed and she killed him, that there was little to no chance left. But he still rather clinged to that small hope and didn't tell anybody about it, even though at this point he knew she was dangerous and could harm/kill his coworkers.

Look, I know I'm being incredibly petty here, but it makes me kinda mad, when people say that Jack doesn't deserve Ianto just because he might be in love with somebody else, but forgive darling Ianto so easily for using them and almost killing them all out of love for a woman. Just saying. I don't support this pairing in any way because I never quite forgave him for this. *shrugs*

Frankly, I think telling the rest of the team in the first place would have been the best option, because at least then the rest of the team might have been a bit more likely to help him out.

Oh, I don't think you're petty at all! Just because I like the character doesn't mean that I a) can't see his flaws (I just go easier on his flaws because NOONE else on the Torchwood team is perfect.) or b) should persecute you for thinking differently. I don't mean to do that at all.

I think a lot of people in the Torchwood fandom put Ianto and or the Jack/Ianto thing on a pedastal, and that's NOT a good thing. I do like the pairing, but I try not to look at it through 'true love goggles' (

Not telling the team right away was one of the things I could actually understand. He must have thought there was a possibility they would just kill her, which I don't think they would have done, but well...

Yeah, people in the TW fandom tend to overlook his flaws or things that come in the way of the pairing, so it's nice that there are people who see this rationally. They can ship it all they want, it's just annoying when everybody always tells you you have to like it, because it's the only right thing. @.@

I could also rant about this, so yeah, I'll stop too. ^^

Well, I understood why he didn't do it, but I think he should have anyway.

I KNOW. I love the two of them together, think it's something unique and the dynamics are interesting, but it makes me mad that fandom is taken over with it. And there are actually people who tell you that you HAVE to ship it? WTF? *rolls eyes* Just because someone's ship goes canon, does not mean you can me all high and mighty about it.

Sometimes part of the fandom is just crazy.
