33. I hear you there. Not that any of my friends are doing it, but every time I see the "Crush on the internet" secrets, I think of how sad it is.

35. You know what you have to do right? Write a fic, and illustrate it, and post the fic with the pictures embedded in it and then they have to read to understand the progression of images XD

33. What about genuine relationships that build over the Internet? Are all of them sad, or do you just mean the "I have a crush on this person I know nothing about beyond the character they RP/write/draw"? Not trying to be an ass here, just asking.

There's waaaaaaaay too many people out there having online relationships for me to knock it all in general. But this "I fell in love with my rp partner/favorire fic writer/favorite fanartist" shit is stupid. And of course they all want to claim that they fell in love with their personality and shit. They need some more real life face-to-face human interaction!

Though I think a lot of fandom crushes are harmless enough, on a lot of levels I completely agree with you. It's possible to take it too far and ignore the possibility of real relationships (even real online/long-distance ones) and be satisfied to crush on a view of a person. Same with just plain friendships. Face-to-face is good to have. :)
