If you actually bothered to pay attention to the show, even when she was the media liaison, she was already being prepped by the other profilers to profile, Hotch, in particular. She needed those skills to skim the cases before presenting them to the team. Additionally, it's implied that she had taken classes right before/right after re-joining the team. She also had training physically while away for a year and (AS SHOWN ON THE SHOW) continually trained WITH MORGAN on fighting and exercise, which is why she is almost as good as him.

Take your JJ hate elsewhere.

It is believable that she can be a good profiler. But it is not believable that she's better than everyone else who has more experience. I like JJ a lot, but I hate that she's become the favorite of the writers to the point that she's the best at things other people have been doing longer. She even bests Rossi who was part of the group that started the profiling thing. And Hotch who has been doing this a long time. That just isn't believable.

Except she's not?

They work as a group now; almost no one is proven right over anyone else.

And she's in better shape because she works at it and is 20+ years younger than the other two.
