That looks hideous. You can make leaning/slanted cakes look cool, but that doesn't even look intentional. And I also hate the decorating. It looks gaudy.

I was gonna say--leaning is so cool, but this looks like it's melting! I never watching GBBO and have absolutely no dog in this fight, but....this looks like a mess. :(

I think the color and design wouldn't look so bad if the cake were obsessively geometric and tidy, but since it isn't... well.

Yeah, she did really messy work. I don't watch the show so I don't know if this is typical work.

It is, sort of. The show is a baking competition for people who aren't professional bakers and it really is a lovely show without the drama and nastiness that a lot of reality shows have. But bottom line is, they're talented home bakers, not people who've had training to do this kind of thing. That cake is not atypical of the show because over the course of a series you'll some really beautiful baked goods and some absolute disasters.

The fondant cuts aren't even. Could I do better? No, but I didn't win a cake competition (did she? I'm assuming so).

They are not even and they are not even placed well. You can see the gaps between some of them.

Yes, this is the part that bothers me the most. Like, if the cake is leaning a bit, fine - but this looks like super sloppy work.
