Of those 4, I think Unseen Academicals was the weakest. It read like bad fanfic.

I agree based on it being about fucking football, but it as unreadable as that makes it, it is more competently "written" than Snuff and Raising Steam. Making Money was actually quite good, although Vetinari was still coming across as a Mary Sue-Insert. Snuff and Raising Steam were just all over the shop in terms of narrative and characterization. Of course we should mention Monstrous Regiment here too, with just one or two "reveals" too many to make it work and there was no reason to put Vimes and the Watch in it at all, and many reasons not to.

Seriously? I thought it was his last good book (though the last Tiffany Aching is OK, if a bit unevenly written). Raising Steam was completely unmemorable, and Snuff was just a hot mess.

Snuff fell apart a bit with the riverboat return sequence, but UU was about football so automatically sucks and Raising Steam had too many cameos from people who were clearly just back for their big curtain call.
