Love and Other Disasters - so there's a straight girl and a gay guy who are besties and the girl tries to do her friend a solid by setting him up with the gay, pretty photographer she just met and really likes. Said photographer isn't actually gay (she just assumed) and is really into ^her. Meanwhile, the guy develops a massive crush on a fella he bumped into (but did not speak with) and the Friend Network goes into overdrive trying to identify the fella and set them up ("News of my crush has just crossed the Atlantic; I'm going to die of embarrassment.") and more stuff happens. It's a bit meta, the humour at the start is a bit broad, and I always find myself shouting "Turn around, you fool!" at the appropriate moment, so it works for me, anyway.
