Context? What is stolen? Who from?

(Anonymous) 2016-04-27 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Google "anthropologie stealing designs". They and Urban Outfitters (diferent brands under the same company) have a history of doing this to independent designers and artists where they take their designs without credit OR pay.

I hadn't heard of this. That sucks.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-29 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, they did it to a friend of mine. Really shitty considering they could have just bought T-shirts, bumper stickers, etc. from him wholesale and sold them instead!

Aww, what a sweet secret! I feel your pain, those are pretty books, anon. :/

Those books are really, really pretty and I can completely understand why you'd want them(and why not getting them is bothering you, because jesus I want them from just looking at a picture).

I did not know this about Anthropologie and I'm disappointed because I love their aesthetic. More overpriced shit I don't mind not being able to afford, I guess.

Good news! You can buy them directly from the paper company that makes them!

Oh my goodness, thank you! :)

You're very welcome. Often I'll look at sites like Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, etc.-- and then see if the item is a company-only exclusive. If not, off to Google I go! This works especially well with books.

Aw, it looks like the books in the picture aren't all offered at the site?
Or am i looking at it wrong...?

(Anonymous) 2016-04-28 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
It looks like they only have the puffin In Bloom set, google puffin classics box set for the ones in the picture.

Thanks!

These covers are rally pretty...

(Anonymous) 2016-04-28 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, those are some pretty covers.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-28 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
The books in your picture seem to be OOP. So if you do buy them, the money is going to the seller and not Anthropologie, at least?

(Anonymous) 2016-04-28 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
The books in your picture are from the Puffin Classics box set (penguin editions), you can buy them pretty much anywhere that sells books, including amazon and Barnes and Noble.

This would annoy me because Anne of Green Gables is the first of a series, and I assume they don't make matching editions of every book in the series.
