I actually agree, and I'm one of the ones who thinks he deserves the Ugliest Man Alive award. But for this movie he actually looks alright.

Who knew a goatee could work such wonders?

I am not surprised

Not going to watch this movie because it supports racism in Hollywood. The role should have gone to Oded Fehr. Worst casting mistake ever.

I was thinking Alexander Siddig myself, but Oded Fehr's a good choice too. :3

No no no. You want to talk about the Tilda Swinton thing then fine. There were easy ways to dodge the Tibet without making the Ancient One white. They wimped out there and there's no good excuse for it. But complaining about Marvel casting a white male to play a white male? That's a load of bull. It would have been cool if Marvel had tweaked things a bit but we don't need to replace all the white guys with not-as-white guys. And Oded Fehr isn't remotely that not-white.

I have never heard Oded Fehr do a convincing northern US accent. To his credit, Cumberbatch seems to have pulled that off.

So, I guess Cumberbatch is a better choice. (Shame, because Oded Fehr would have been very pretty in the role.)

I'm impressed, too. Crunchabunch is lookin' pretty good in this movie.

Beards help hide a weak chin, which is one of Cumberbatch's prominent features.

Nah. I think his chin is fine, but the mustache hides his upper lip, which I maintain is where 90 percent of his odd look comes from.

His upper lip wouldn't look so odd if he had a stronger chin to balance it out, though. His lower jaw doesn't come out far enough.

To highlight the fairly drastic change the goatee produces, I had no idea that was Beardyface Curlytops until reading the comments here. Like he didn't look familiar at all. And he has a pretty distinctive face.

Same! Once I read another comment saying it was him, I had to go back and check the image again. Cumberbatch never ever did anything for me looks-wise, but in this secret? I do like how he looks!
