I feel you, OP. I don't have any of the new platforms to play anything that's been released in the last decade, so I stick to my nostalgia games. I broke out some old ones recently, and just wanted all the fic and art. But, there's very little out there, especially of the shippy variety. I've been contributing my own stuff but it's a bummer to put some much work into something that so few people are interested in.

I feel you, OP. I replayed a favorite older game recently, and while the fandom as a whole is still going stronger than maybe ever, there was never and will probably never be much love for the part of the series I love best.

Nothing like getting that old nostalgia going, right? I love logging in to my old favorites and running around. It makes me a little sad, knowing there won't be anything else like it but it's still fun to do.

This is how I feel about getting into Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition. It's a classic favoutite game series of mine, updated to work on modern OSs, with a few new added bits (mainly new characters and their personal quests). Even with the new stuff, it means I can play my old favourite again.
