(Anonymous) 2016-04-28 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)Looks can get you a lot of things for a while, they truly can, but in the long run, they genuinely don't count for that much. They matter a lot whenever you first meet someone or enter a new environment, but the shelf-life of their potency is pretty short. Once people have known you for a while, your personality will count for more and more while hoe you look counts for less and less. In the long run, personality will mostly be the thing which determines how people feel about you, whether they "fall for you", how deeply they value your friendship, etc.
Secondly, I don't know if this will make you feel better or worse, but FWIW, I believe strongly that if someone doesn't like something about their physical appearance and that person can afford to change said thing (through cosmetic surgery or whatnot), there is nothing the least bit wrong or silly or shameful about seizing the day and doing it. I myself do not have the money for such things, but if I did, you can believe I would have a brazilian butt lift, some botox, and a chin tuck in my future. So if you have the cash...I mean, obviously if you're not comfortable with changing your face that way that's totally fine. I'm just saying, there's no need to rule it out.
