I'm also much more interested in Fingolfin and Finarfin's families than the Feanorians. Fingon/Maedhros is an NOTP of mine but I like their friendship. The Fingon/Maedhros shippers have made me sick of both of them though.

I prompted on the kink meme for Galadriel's feelings regarding Finrod's death (how she reacted and then dealt with Beren and Luthien afterwards). I want to know about Turgon and Fingon's (and Argon) relationship. And Idril with her uncles and aunt. And Turgon and Finrod's friendship. And Finrod with Melian or Luthien or Thingol. Or with Fingolfin. Fingolfin's thoughts when Turgon made Gondolin.

Really just anything that's not the Feanorians. I'm sick of them.

Er, well, obviously if one hasn't read a book, the secrets about it will be incomprehensible? It...kind of stands to reason that secrets about a work one is unfamiliar with will make no sense, but especially ones that have a lot of characters and subplots, and doubly especially books with no film adaptation, because there's no actors that outsiders can recognize associate a character with. Can't think of how this is anything unique to the Silmarillion. I find tons of book fandoms that I'm unfamiliar with utterly incomprehensible myself.

SO much yes to both the Fingolfinean's feelings re: the kinslaying, and Galadriel's reaction to Finrod's death. The Fingon-Maedhros story is one of my favorite things in the whole book and there's so much that isn't elaborated upon: we know he still loved Maedhros but certainly he was probably incredibly pissed and betrayed and heartbroken at various times as well.

And the Finarfeans are especially fascinating because they were even less complicit than the Fingolfineans, Finarfin didn't make no dumbass promises to help his clearly insane half-brother with his obsessions, they were just kind of screwed by association and a lot of their motives for their exile got shuffled around a lot during the course of the passage.

Also they were just kinda awesome? Galadriel and Finrod are both such delightful people in such vastly different ways and I really wanna know what their sibling relationship was like. I somehow picture Finrod pelting Galadriel with a bazillion messages via messenger into Doriath squeeing about these adorable creatures called "humans" he discovered and like omg sis you've gotta meet them they are so fantastic stop nerding around in the forest for a minute and come outside. Meanwhile Galadriel's trying to build her Super Awesome Mirror and creates 10,0000 massive failure prototypes that randomly show people scenes from alternate universes like Narnia and Star Wars and is pulling her hair out with frustration, and now her brother is bugging her about some more of his nature hike hippie crap like she doesn't have enough problems already what with all the stuff she's trying to learn plus Melian breathing down her neck about what the Feanorians' damage is.
