I like SPN and DW and am indifferent to Sherlock and I have encountered exactly one readable Superwholock fic.* I couldn't say exactly what about the combination makes things not work, but in my experience they almost never do. Any two of them can be done okay, but all three? Something just goes terribly wrong.

*Readable to me.

I feel you, OP. I like all three of these shows, but I don't want them to intersect for similar reasons.

I love both DW and Sherlock and enjoyed the few seasons of SPN I watched a few years ago, but yeah, I do not get that combination either. I haven't seen it around as much though.

I like all the shows (more or less) and I love crossovers. I don't hate or love the idea of this universe. I haven't read anything in it, but I imagine that it wouldn't be well characterized. If authors took it seriously and were concerned with how to really put the shows together, I think it could be interesting. But I've found, through experience with other things, that often when something is super popular like this, it degenerates to the tropey, cliched basics and aren't interesting any more (or very recognizable either).

I'd still give it a try with a good rec though.

Change the supergroup to RoBTD or whatever the animation equivalent is calling itself these days, and I could've written this.

I'd guess it's because all these shows bend reality around the protagonists to make them look good and plot relevant. If the characters wouldn't get along as peers, then one set of characters would automatically lose out.

(although it would be interesting to see them as really antagonistic...)

My fave fictional crossover is Superomens (with a dash of Merlin, bc I'm sad) but all the fics fuse GO!Crowley and SPN!Crowley and I hate itttttttttt.

Yess. I hate that fusion concept, it works horribly!

My biggest dislike of it is the cross between SPN and DW. Which takes precedence? The supernatural elements of SPN or the science of DW? They ideologically clash.

Sherlock at least is mundane (not sci-fi, not fantasy) so it doesn't clash with either.

But then I ignored SuperWhoLock for the most part.
