Well, ballet training is a good background to have for that sort of thing. But I just don't know enough about her, especially from a charisma point of view, which was what - I thought - made Ridley a good option. Charisma is so important in adventure leads.

Anyway, I guess it all depends on the script and directing regardless.

She was pretty good in The Man from UNCLE. I've not seen Ex Machina or The Danish Girl, but they are supposed to be really good.

Everything I've seen about Ex Machina is about Oscar Isaac so it's hard to say from that point of view. And The Danish Girl had enough controversy around it that I didn't see anyone really talking about her performance. Good to hear she was good in UNCLE though.

I am hoping the Assassin's Creed movie is at least a 65% on Rotten Tomatoes. It has the director, cinematographer, and star of Macbeth.

X-men: I'm starting to get interested but I'm really unimpressed with Mystique's centrality in the trailers (and presumably in the movies). I have never liked the Mystique look in the movies (seriously, she can wear clothes, and the makeup looks awful) and I don't like what they did to Mystique in the reboot. I don't mind she was Charles' sister but they did nothing with that or anything else.

The thing that made me most excited is the confirmation that they are going to have Quicksilver as Magneto's son. It sounds like Magneto loses his family, so I hope that Quicksilver can connect with him and bring him back to the good guys. I know it's unlikely but I also hope Wanda has a cameo. I just want family feels.

I'm also hoping for a quick young!Cylops and Wolverine because those two characters are a blast together.

The Mystique thing seems to be the opinion of a lot of people. She has slowly been getting more and more importance with each X-Men First Class movie. I am hoping JLaw will leave the franchise soon.

The Mystique focus bugs me a bit, but I'd still rather have her the focus any day over Wolverine. I was sick of him after X-2 and yet nearly every single one of the movies is all about him. He's so overrated even in the comis.

Does Captain Fantastic show Viggo Moretensen with a much younger woman? It was hard to tell from the camera angles (I don't have my sound on). If so, ugh. I fucking hate that.
