I remember much pissing me off about the Ella's Enchanted movie but I only watched it once so I don't remember many details. I think mostly the fact that they didn't fall in love through letters and the stupid thing with the knife for the climax - I realize the book as written wouldn't work too well as a movie, but that's reason not to make a movie, not to rip out everything that made the book special.

The main thing that bothered me about that movie was that they played her curse for laughs too much. The book never let you forget how much danger she was in. The movie didn't really seem to understand that.

And on a pettier note, I missed Ella being good with languages. I'm a language nerd and that was a neat thing to see in a protagonist.

Never saw the movie, but I loved that Ella loved languages--that book helped inspire ME to like languages too! And I find the curse even scarier as an adult than I did as a kid!
