funny because where I live it's hard to get steak (at the butcher or supermarket) that *isn't* lean because people think that fat will make them fat. they don't mind it being shitty without it. Or rather, they believe that leanness is actually a sign of superior quality.

that said, my mom is exactly the same as you about steak. I kinda get it but I like it fatty.

Have you ever tried wagyu steak? it has the fatty tissue embedded within the meat. you get all the taste without really realizing it's the fat enhancing it. If you ever get the chance, try it. (I had kobe steak two years ago because it was on sale. 900 yen for two little steaks of 50 grams each. best steaklings I ever had.)
