I am so used to cheddar that most other cheeses are weird for me.

Most fruits I would agree work better on the slightly underripe side, because it makes them slightly tart and I love tart fruit flavours, but for me bananas are not one of them because they taste cardboardy to me. I'll take my bananas with no green and just starting to get dark spots on the skin.

However my Mum would agree with you on bananas.

Oh man, once brown spots appear on bananas all bets are off. I really hate the way they taste at that point. If it's the only piece of fruit in the house and I'm super hungry I might still eat it, but I won't really enjoy it. It tastes a little...not rancid exactly, but definitely a little bit like it's about to turn, to me. Just kinda stinky tasting, if that makes any sense?

I admit, not really, at least not yet. Too much further after spots start to appear and then I understand what you mean and the bananas are only good for cooking.

Hmm. Perhaps bananas produce a chemical as they ripen that I am more sensitive to? :|a
