Okay baking bread is non-trivial. It is absolutely, absolutely not something that anyone can do. I've tried several times and I have just not been at all successful in making bread that's really enjoyable to eat. I'm very in favor of cooking, but, like, there is absolutely a scale of difficulty to learning to cook different items. This is not just automatically accessible to the point where all you have to do is decide to do it

Um, while yeast breads do have a learning curve, many soda breads and baking powder biscuits and scones are pretty straight forward. Here's an easy recipe:

Easy Drop Biscuits
Makes 6 biscuits

Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup whole milk

Directions
Heat oven to 400° F. In a food processor, combine the flour, butter, baking powder, and salt; pulse until pea-size clumps form. Add the milk and pulse just until moistened.

Drop 6 large mounds of the dough (about ½ cup each) onto a baking sheet. Bake until golden, 18 to 20 minutes.
