IDK. I've never asked them. For the most part they (the guys I know... which is like everyone in the gay community in my city XD) think it's pretty pathetic. You don't openly admit that you like a gay guy if you know there's no chance, yeah? Only reason you generally openly tell someone you like them is if you want to get with them.

And some girls are just... honestly pathetic. One girl I know would like... just always touch him and try to get him off and stuff. And he was always like 'Dude, I'm fucking gay.'

Thanks for living in your idealistic little world but things really aren't that black and white. I don't know, maybe I only hang out with twats, but the kind of easy acceptance you described isn't particularly a common occurance, more common with a lesbian and a straight girl, but men are different from women.

I'm aware that I'm slightly stereotyping here, but a lot of gay men are "extremely judgemental, and dramatic, and divas". Those words from the mouth of my best friend. And I have more than enough first hand experience of gay men acting like this to say that yes, it's true. And I have seen gay boys sit around and bash the poor little straight girl that has a crush on one of them. It's kind of a favorite way to kick things up at a party when things are slowing down. Let's sit down and talk about the lame fag hag that likes me and follows me everywhere and is totally in love with me.

I'm not saying it's right. But it happens. A lot.

That situation was me, as it happens. Not everyone can arrange their emotions around another person's preferences in regards to gender. Sometimes this stuff just happens, and it's better to be honest about it than turn into a stereotypical angstmonkey.

There's a distinct possibility that you hang out with twats. Nobody I know would act like that and still be considered a decent person.

I'm not saying that it's right. Or good. Or lovely that the guys do this. I'm saying that, in my experiences, it happens and is a common occurance even. Not everyone is as easily accepting about those sorts of things. Some people feel uncomfortable being liked by someone of the gender they're not attracted to.

And some people that have those emotions don't handle them maturely and can come off as creepy and obsessed even. It's not right but it happens.

Yeah, I agree completely. Unfortunately, all my experiences come from the immaturity side. The obsessive girls. The boys being twats about it because, most of the time for them, the girls are obsessive and creepy.

I do have a very jaded view of the whole situation.

And the huge dislike for girls that only want to know gay boys for their gayness. Once again, personal experiences, but so many of my girl friends outside of my usual circle (the gay one orz) tell me how jealous they are because they want a gay best friend to go shopping with them, and do their nails, and to check out boys with. Everything in my original comment was from personal experiences. I don't have any IRL fandom friends, but online girls have said the same thing to me. It just... !#$% yeah.

It's a guy. A guy who happens to be gay. I've never understood the fetish for them (outside, y'know, actual gay porn).

Apparently to a lot of girls they're a novelty to be treated as an accessory. It's all the rage to have one, haven't you heard?
