I KNOW. It's a quirky, colorful world filled with quirky, colorful characters, all of whom you get to know personally during the course of the game, reliving its final hours over and over again. And even when you manage to touch their lives and help one of them solve their soul-crushing problem, they will eventually die, and next time you see them it'll be like you never helped at all. I felt so fucking bad for them. I can completely sympathize when you say you wanted to save everyone.

And then there's the final six hours, with the creepiest, saddest video game music ever composed, and the impending moon growing closer and closer, with the ground rumbling and the sky turning violet. And the town is deserted except for the few remaining people — the carpenter who refuses to leave his post, the guards who are still at their posts, the postman who is scared to death but his schedule doesn't allow him to leave, Anju who is still waiting for Kafei... ;_;

See, video game developers: THIS is how you make an emotional game.

Omg yes x.x I didn't actually manage to completely finish the Anju/Kafei sidequest until fairly recently, because it was too complicated for me when the game first came out and I was but a wee girl of nine XD But when I did, I felt like crying even more because the thought of them finally being together again, and then WAITING FOR THEIR IMMINENT DEATH TOGETHER made me all ajdhfjdhgj. The guards also got me, the way they stare up at the moon so fearfully on the third night ;~; I feel sorry for Link who has to re-live these things over and over again D:

I already get too attached to game characters but this one made that even worse. I wanted SO BADLY to be able to spend at least one more day with them, after the moon was gone, just to see how they all were, but no, Link's just a lonely outsider >: Seeing everyone partying in the credits was some nice closure though.

I love this game, and most all Zelda games, way too much. Everyone involved with them know exactly what they're doing when it comes to story, and how to get emotions out of you. Especially this game XD I'm just glad I'm not the only one *A* ♥
