If you're interested in European tours, I know of 3 companies that don't charge for single supplements and are geared towards independent travelers. I've done two of them and have loved both of them SOOOOOO much. Made some amazing friends that way!

NAYRT, but which companies? Single supplements suck.

topdeck.travel
contiki.com
busabout.com

I've done both topdeck and busabout. Busabout has no age limit, but topdeck caps out at 39. I found the topdeck to skew to early 20s-mid 20s (the oldest on our group was 33) and busabout to skew lates 20s-early 30s, but I honestly didn't know everyone's age.

I did the Czech Mate tour on Topdeck and it was in the winter from Prague-Berlin-Amsterdam-London. We stayed in hostels with en suites and it was all split by gender. It was 4 girls to a room.

Busabout varied from 2-8 people per room depending on where we stayed. I'd say it was an average of 4 people per room. We got to choose our roommates in every hostel so we weren't divided by gender here. I did the Scandi-Baltic Adventures and honestly cannot recommend it enough. I LOVED IT SO MUCH! Seriously, if you're slightly interested in that, DO IT.

Feel free to ask me any other questions!
