So you want to reduce Aunt May to being nothing more than Tony's rebound after breaking up with Pepper? What a shitty way to treat all three characters.

I'm not that anon, but Aunt May hooking up with Tony wouldn't reduce her to Tony's rebound, as long as she wasn't actually treated that way by the story (or Tony), and her relationship with Peter remains more important. I'd be down with it. Bring on Tony/May. :D

I'm not the (other) anon, but 1) considering that Marvel took the lazy way out by having the breakup off-screen for vague handwavy reasons just to put Tony in the dumps emotionally and make him unstable leading up to the movie's climax, I have ZERO confidence that they would treat Tony/May well, and 2) on the fanfic side, I've lost count of how many fic I've read that pulls the same lazy cliches to break up Tony and Pepper for the purpose of putting Tony together with Steve, or Loki, or Bruce, or Natasha, or anyone else. And none of them treat any of the characters well. I hate to have to burst your bubble, but the sad fact is you're giving fandom way too much credit. They really are that nasty.

So people are only allowed to write Tony/Pepper FIC? No one's suggesting it become canon.

"No one's suggesting it become canon."

Clearly you haven't seen some of the comments from the drooling comic fanboys.
